[EN] Wicked Wisdom
Well, Dave Letterman did it again. Even though I watch The
Late Show religiously every single day, I'm not usually
impressed with the musical guests. Wednesday, Jan 25th didn't
appear to be an exception. When Dave announced a band called
Wicked Wisdom, featuring "Will Smith's wife", I thought: "Oh
no, not another bland rap/R&B act, please!".
Well, I was wrong. As soon as they started their set, I was hit by sounds of Pantera, Slipknot, Fishbone ... With a tiny featherweight black girl screaming her lungs out and headbanging with the guys. Was that really ...? Yes, I recognised that face. It was Jada Pinkett Smith for real.
This is how they looked on Dave's show.

Wicked Wisdom performed their first single release, "Something Inside of Me", which certainly sounded like heavy metal to me ;) So, I Googled around a bit, and discovered that this band was for real, currently touring the U.S., and even performing on Ozzfest (!), sparking quite a bit of controversy along the way in the "white metal world". Too bad that there wasn't a shot of the usually quite sedate "middle-America audience" at the Late Show when they started headbanging ;)

And watch out for their album (also called "Wicked Wisdom") about to be relased any day now.
P.S. I had some spare time on my hands, so I made a nice little MP3 (128 kbps, 44 Khz, mono, 3,7 MB) for you.
