Well, I guess it was about time. After having had seven fine
years with my Mikli frame, I started to look a bit bleak with
it (I'm sure I always did, but sometimes it takes some time to
notice things yourself ...).
When I bought it, I wanted glasses that you could hardly see,
but I suppose it takes some time to realise you look slightly
more palatable
with glasses you can actually see ;-)
Oh, and glasses you can actually see
with. I had my
first eye test in seven years, and I must say I wasn't
disappointed; a quarter point (minus) was added to each side,
so I guess I will not be getting any more near-sighted after
this.
This time, I have a Danish frame (the new Mikli collection was
a bit too wide for my face) by
Ørgreen Optics. Never
heard of them before, but it was one of the first of the about
fifty frames I tried on (I'm very hard to please when it comes
to frames), and I liked it immediately. It made the shortlist
of three, and survived the final cut with ease.
I'm now eagerly awaiting my new sun glasses, which will fall
into the
"Boys
and Toys" category once again, because they're ridiculously
expensive, especially the prescription lenses which will have
to be colored in a special way (fading from darker to lighter)
and silver-coated.
The slick aerodynamic thin-plated metal frame is German (
ic! berlin),
and it's quite 'fast'. Together with the specially crafted
lenses, it looks quite ... well ... not like me, which is
probably why I'm buying them ;) I'm not entirely sure from
memory, but I think it's one of the three below; very probably
the second one, judging by the color and shape of the lenses.

Anyway, you get the general idea.
I'll be back with those next week, I guess. Keep an eye out (har
har).
